THE YOUNG ARTIST..........

I have always loved the artwork of young children, and viewed and collected much during my many years as a kindergarten teacher. Now I am inspired and entertained by the artwork of the 4 year old granddaughter!! A day doesn't pass that Sadie isn't involved in some type of artsy-craftsy activity, either at preschool, or at home. She has been equipped with a wonderful art table with all the supplies anyone could want or need, and an easel for painting and chalk drawing. Jen, with a degree in graphic arts, is a great guiding influence. We are fortunate to have a superb Santa hanging on the refrigerator this holiday season, entirely cut out and glued together by Sadie!! It is most precious!! Today I would like to share with you the wonderful Christmas card that Sadie and her family created for friends and family this year. There's nothing quite as special as the handmade card....and especially one that was created with the art of the young child!! Enjoy!!

art by kids rock. it is the most wonderful combination of expression, enthusiasm and naivety. It usually gets stomped out when art teachers start telling them to draw this (whatever it is) and they try to make there drawing look like it and all the freshness goes away. Happy New Year Parker

Thanks for stopping by, Parker!! So true....so true....instead of squelching the creativity of youth, what a blessing if it could only be nourished and allowed to develop!! Happy New Year to you and yours as well!!
