SADIE.....NEW ADVENTURES!!

Sadie learned to really ride her two wheel bike well this summer!! She also became an urban chicken "farmer", and proudly gathers the eggs now that her chickens have begun to lay!! We brought a half dozen of the pretty brown eggs home with us today!! Sadie turned 6 years old today, and had a fun sleepover Saturday night. Sadly, her gram failed to take any pictures this morning of her opening her family gifts. Oh well...there is already birthday #7!!

FROM THE SUMMER GARDEN............

As Summer draws to an end......and Fall is upon us.....I wanted to share some of the beauty of nature at work in my yard earlier in the season!! Enjoy!!

THE GROWING GRANDSON!!

As with all things.....the grand children are growing and changing as fast as the weeds!! This little guy is quite the chunk, and quite a ham, too!! Hard to believe that he is already 8 months old!! Won't be long and he will be running around. He is working on more teeth..with the top two coming through recently!! The better to chew with!!

WATCHING THE ELK.......

While out today, enjoying the turning of the aspens, we came upon a small herd of elk grazing in a meadow. Because I was interested in observing their behavior, we watched them for some time....and of course, I took about 50 pictures!! Elk are a more social animal than deer, so are most often found in herds. It was interesting to watch the alpha female guide the others around, as the big daddy looked on. He was quite impressive, and his bugle call was very nice. It was interesting to watch his body movements as he bugled....rather like he had something stuck in his throat!! They grazed for a long time as we watched, and then when something obviously spooked the alpha, she turned and ran, with the others falling into line behind her immediately. The bull took up the rear, until they reached the edge of the clearing, where she then stopped.....and he came up to the front...as if she was saying, okay....now you can once again behave as if YOU are in charge!!!! We all know who was in charge, though!!

SUMMER WILDFLOWERS....AND FALL IS IN THE AIR!!!!!

First, I want to give a big HUGE thank you to all of you for your kind words, prayers and well-wishes for our dear kitty, Precious! She seems to be getting better day by day, and I hope that she will be with us awhile longer.

As summer turns into Fall, I want to share some shots of some of Colorado's beautiful wildflowers, taken on several outings this summer. Enjoy!!

UPDATE ON PRECIOUS THE CAT!!

Thank you so much for all your kind words regarding our dear kitty Precious!! I am happy to report that she is doing much better, eating more, and beginning to gain some of her lost weight back. She is still getting fluids daily, which may be the way it is from now on, but she doesn't seem to mind. I have mastered the procedure now, too....so all is well! We will continue to pamper her, making her as happy as any kitty could be!! :)
